INS Karanj (2018) is the third submarine of the first batch of six Kalvari-class submarines – Scorpene class submarine, for the Indian Navy.

It is a conventional submarine powered by diesel propulsion
and considered to be stealthier than the its older brothers.

It is a diesel-electric attack submarine based on the Scorpène class, Designed by French Navy got manufactured at Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL), Mumbai.

The ship was launched on 31 January 2018.

INS Karanj will start delivering its service to the nation by January 2021.
